There were 720,540 unsold houses on the market across England in the second quarter of 2023, research by property purchasing specialist House Buyer Bureau has found.
This time last year this figure came in at 660,513, meaning the sales stock has increased by nine percent.

We are reliable, trustworthy and fair and understand the issues of buying traditional property that require attention. I have 13 years of experience in the buy-to-let sector and rental market.
However, it all started decades ago when I bought my first house, which was 300 years old and uninhabitable. The handmade bricks were laid on an earth floor, and the well was outside the back door.
I was 20 years old. My house maintenance skills at the time were limited to painting, and this was a daunting task - our fathers saw this as a 'great project', both from builders' families. My father helped build my grandparent's house in his late teens.
My first house took 7 years to finish, we were in no hurry, and because we could do it, our friends bought theirs in the same village, we literally spent 7 years doing up each other's house, the local tradesmen and the DIY shop loved us.
